Seguro Files 004

Robbins Butte is a popular area near Gila Bend, Arizona. The area attracts many bird watchers and, unfortunately, illegal dumping. I have come to learn that this is a contested area due to a section of public land that crosses private property. Landowners in the area have been known to intimidate those who enter. It is strongly advised not to enter this area alone or without some form of protection.
Based on my experience, during this time, COVID-19 was heavily impacting the region, and my workplace had undergone significant changes. I had taken on the responsibilities of two senior-level engineers without additional compensation. I took this day off to clear my head.

I take this trail down to Power Line Road and to the historic Gillespie Dam. There is nothing too challenging on this trail. I'm sure there are hidden nooks and crannies that offer more challenges, but I don't find the area very intimidating. It's a quick trail close to the city, perfect for a short off-road excursion before heading back into town. At the time, this was my idea of trail riding!
These early trails may not be particularly thrilling, but I feel they are important to share to provide a complete picture of my off-roading evolution. As we progress, you will be able to identify moments when my mentality shifts. You will witness the progression and see how fear, doubt, and inexperience play out. We are just getting started!
