What is Widow Maker? Widow Maker is a series of climbs, up a steep hillside. The climbs are located at Sycamore Creek, commonly called Lower Sycamore Creek. If you traveling from Phoenix, head east on Loop 202. You will get off on Exit 13, Country Club Dr. Make a left turn onto Highway 87. Travel North for 20 miles, and exit on Bush Highway. Make a left turn on Bush Highway and you will be at Sycamore Creek Trail head. Note, the last services will be located at a local Chevron off Ft. McDowell road. Be sure to use get any necessities and use services before heading to the trail.

Sycamore Creek is a fairly popular Off Highway recreational site. As you drive down the dirt path, there will be lots of OHV traffic. As a courtesy you should keep speed relatively low. Keep your awareness high, as dirt bikes and rzr's will be zipping and zooming by. As we drop into the wash you will see various vegetation and wildlife. The trails are not regularly maintained, and there will be overgrowth on the trails. It is advised that the window remain rolled up and all parts of your body remain in the vehicle. The desert is rugged and rugged plant life has evolved, many of which have thorns. Sycamore creek is a known flash flood zone. If we receive a flash flood warning the ride will be cancelled. Although it is not raining in the immediate area rainfall further north will make its way down to Sycamore Creek. If your ride has to be cancelled for abrupt weather changes, you will offered a different date, or refund. Sycamore creek is part of the Tonto National Forrest and is managed by the Mesa Ranger District. There will be times that designated Off-Highway Vehicle areas are closed to public. We will do our best to be cognizant of these changes, however if the designated area is closed, we will offer you trail in the general area. If no trails are available, we will offer another day or refund.

Widow Maker offers a unique experience. The huge walls will make you feel confined. The terrain is more uneven than the videos will portray. As we are traveling through the enclosed space, you will feel the suspension twist and turn, and sometimes shifting the truck closer to the walls. It is in these moments that your adrenaline gets going.. Are we going to slide into the wall? Can we make the turn up ahead? Does the trail get narrower? Once we make it to the top, you are rewarded with magnificent views of the Creek bed and surrounding mountainsides. The sense of relief coupled with the natural beauty offers a unique experience, that few have the opportunity to enjoy. Overall, I hope you enjoy your experience and you take away memories that you will share with anyone that has the pleasure of meeting you.
